Architect Blue

(3 Reviews)
The Steinhart Architect Blue is the first integrated sports model released by Steinhart in 2023. It clades an iconic seventies design that is still deemed ever so popular even today. Made in Switzerland and powered by a premium Swiss Made SW300 élaboré automatic movement, this watch is set to amaze. Sporty yet elegant at the same time..

 Steinhart Architect Blue
The Steinhart Architect Blue is made to the highest of Swiss standards. The case is inspired by the legendary designs made by a phenom Swiss watch artisan, Gerald Genta. Many would know he stamped the iconic integrated bracelet look with its steel case, creating a seamless look throughout that shouts versatility and quality. The design is carried till today and bestowed in the Architect piece, made entirely from 316L stainless steel. Features a satin brushed finish on the top and side of the case surfaces, in tandem with its polished chamfers. This finishing follows through the 23mm stainless steel bracelet, which tapers to 18mm and is worn with a deployment clasp.

Like its elaborated finished case, the main feature has got to be the fully integrated stainless steel bracelet with polished edges and centre links blending harmoniously into the elaborately finished case. We couldn't emphasise how much the integrated look of the Architect pays a fulfilling tribute to Genta's legendary design in the 1970s, which 50 years later is more current than ever.

The 39mm case has a svelte height of 11.5mm, making this quite comfortable and sleek on most wrist sizes. This slimness includes the octagonal bezel with its unusual shape, another element from Genta's design language. Furthermore, the bezel mirrors its case finishings and shape, blending harmoniously throughout the watch. The case bears a good 100m water-resistant thanks to its screw-down case-back and crown - that befits the watch for its sports livery.

Within the domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, it frames the dial, which clads some subtle line structure, reminiscing the surface pattern of a deck on a yacht. This pattern further enhances a sporty lifestyle look for its wearer while reducing to the essentials with its applied metal indices and bold handset. The dial features a mixture of Arabic numerals at the top and bottom, while the remaining are applied with block-shaped indices. All the markers and hands glow blue in the dark as they are filled with Superluminova BGW9. The dial also features a matching date display located at 4:30, blending in with its dial without hindering any markers.

SuperLuminova BGW9
Inside, the Architect houses the premium movement Swiss Made SW300 Elaboré Premium. The beautifully decorated movement is visible through a glass bottom, allowing the entire case to be slim. Decorated movement, blue screws and golden Steinhart rotor perform with precision.

Overall, the great Gerald Genta was considered the architect of an entire watch genre when he created the legendary design in the 1970s, which 50 years later is more current than ever. This new Steinhart Architect pays a beautiful tribute to this genre and its creator while offering some nice tweaks simultaneously, resulting in a contemporary interpretation of this design language.
