Steinhart was founded in 2001 based on the ethos of offering high-quality, Swiss-made watches at an honest and accessible price tag. Over the years, the German watch brand tirelessly seeks to develop a broad genre of quality mechanical timepieces. As a result, Steinhart's Ocean One collection has gained widespread popularity amongst watch enthusiasts. It is even more so with the Vintage series. The fusion of modern watchmaking commingles with vintage flair makes them stand out from other divers' watches.
As a partner who started with Steinhart, Gnomon Watches has worked closely with the brand since the beginning, abetting Mr Steinhart and his team to introduce these valued-for-your-money watches to an even larger audience. Our firm bond has allowed us to further launched an array of exclusive models where our specific designs speak to watch enthusiasts like us. Both companies' excellent relationships can only show these achievements and recognitions. So fasten your seatbelts as we unveil yet another Steinhart x Gnomon exclusive. PS. This particular one has excited the whole Gnomon team, as we nailed the watch design right out of the ballpark.

Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Concorde - Gnomon Exclusive
|
The latest release is another perfect tie-up between two brands with the same values and a passion for watches. We are introducing the Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Concorde - Gnomon Exclusive. The Concorde is a follow-up from our GMT Melon exclusive, but now paying tribute to a total gold GMT diver. Its retro and ritzy charms were the zeitgeist of the sixties and seventies, where tool watches were embellished with luxurious materials like gold.
Once again, a limited production GMT Ocean timepiece, the "Concorde" moniker is inspired by the name from the supersonic commercial jetliner that crisscrossed the Atlantic from 1969 to 2003. At the same time, it is apt for that epoch where you find a whole gold tone on a sports watch. As many might know, our exclusive usually straddles the vintage path, like the aged looks and period-correct elements. And this particular GMT Concorde checks out all the vintage boxes in execution. It is the first time we attempt a full gold tone colour from the early sixties, from the markers to the handset, which turns out to be just as opulent in design as wearing it on the wrist.
Only available exclusively for Gnomon, The new Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Concorde is still seen as a period-correct GMT watch that seeks to be different among the immense sea of mostly conservative all-black or blue dive watches at the time. And in a vintage manner, a smaller case size? Check. A unique look? Check. New colours? Check. The Concorde is 39mm in diameter with a compact 47mm lug-to-lug. It has a thickness of about 13.8mm, thanks in part to the domed sapphire crystal atop the dial. What we like about this case is there are additional details to it. There is further satin-brushed polishing at the top of the case, only to be contrasted with full mirror-finishing on the sides. The case comprises 316L stainless steel material and is treated with full yellow gold PVD treatment for a splendid overall. This particular style could not be found among the Ocean 39 models.

The Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Concorde- Gnomon Exclusive features a unidirectional 24-hour cigar brown GMT bezel, allowing you to track a second-time zone. There's another first attribute to be highlighted here. What's so unique and distinctive about the bezel is that, for the first time, we requested Steinhart to use this colour for the particular bezel insert in an "aged" form that's trespasses time from the sixties. Aluminium was the choice of material to mimic the original bezels of yesteryears. It was expertly chosen - with the bezel giving off a charming vintage hue - while retaining its durability and purpose. The bezel features gold markers in a 24-hour format, which matches the case. The bezel rotates anti-clockwise with a solid 120 clicks and can be done with ease thanks to its polished grooves.
Moving on to the dial, the Concorde features a matte brown dial with circular "nipple" indices, except a triangular index at 12 o'clock and the baton indices at 6 and 9. A date display can be found at 3 o'clock, while the Mercedes hands and a more extended GMT hand in gold colourway complete the look. The hands accurately hit the printed outer minute track, all being brief and stubby, which enthusiasts will appreciate. Steinhart's screwed-down signed crown and case back offer the watch an impressive 300m water resistance.
The hands, indices, and bezel insert are generously painted with Swiss Superluminova. The gilt gold trims befit the deluxe theme here. Nevertheless, the watch offers a great glow that will last long, ensuring maximum readability in darkness. At the other end of the spectrum, the domed sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on the underside, ensuring the dial is legible in harsh lighting.

The ever-dependable Selita SW330-2 movement is powering the watch. It has 25/26 jewels, beats at 28,800 BPH, and has an independent GMT hand. This workhorse Swiss movement has been widely used in the industry, guaranteeing robustness, longevity, and ease of service. A screwed-down case-back protects the movement. While plain at first sight, the case back gets individually engraved with its serial number to make every piece unique.
The Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT has a satin brushed stainless steel bracelet in jubilee form, all done in a matching yellow gold-tone like its case. The bracelet comes with screw links and flip-lock, tapering from 20mm to 16mm, making the 39mm model look much more refined and elegant.
The new Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Concorde: Gnomon Exclusive is the latest in our line of Steinhart x Gnomon collaborations and only will be produced in limited quantities. We are featuring a full gold colour that Steinhart and Gnomon have never done before. And by catering a refreshing take to what might be a sober and no-nonsense sports watch space, the timepiece is a killer that has got all of us at Gnomon buzzing. This watch signifies our long-standing relationship with Steinhart and how we constantly take in feedback from our fans and produce well-liked watches by many.
