Reminiscent of its undisputed "starter" watch, the SBSA173 stays true to its reputation of being a robust re-issue design language watch with a classic layout. Whether you are just starting out as a mechanical watch collector or a seasoned one, this watch is bound to turn your head. 

Enjoying a length of 46mm, a side of 42.5mm and a thickness of 13.4mm, the SBSA173 offers comfort and style around the wrist. Moreover, it features an open back and is now powered by Seiko's automatic caliber, 4R36, operating at 21,600 BPH (3 Hertz) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 24 jewels with a power reserve of 41 hours. This is a significant notch-up from the prior 7S26 non-hacking and winding caliber that was used for the old SKX007J1. 

Besides, the reverse-rotation bezel is aluminum and showcases large blackout printed markings, displaying Seiko’s knack of customizing modern watches with a unique twist. Sitting atop of the bezel is Seiko’s Hardlex. The whole matte finishing throughout the entire timepiece offers a tool watch touch with a dose of elegance. 

Furthermore, the military-style dark and light green dial contributes to a rugged and outdoorsy character of the SBSA173, making this timepiece versatile for both a day out in the city center as well as a hill or mountain hike. The Logo symmetrically coordinates with the bottom Seiko’s Sumo “Automatic '' font style, making the dial a pleasure to look at. The large and SKX’s heirloom indices remain with the classic Seiko hour and minutes hands,makingreading time a breeze. What is more, both the markers and handset have been generously coated with Seiko's LumiBrite permitting them to glow brightly in the dark for hours. This timepiece comes with a nylon strap with a three-fold clasp with push button release for sophistication and flexible wear.
