Mido presented the Rainflower collection, which perpetuates the spirit of the ArtScience Museum in Singapore. The line consists of a purely dedicated and refined architectural interpretation of the Lion city's iconic museum, inspired by the sublime and bowl-shaped aesthetic of a lotus flower floating above the water. Today, we take a look at the Mido Rainflower Ladies Blue Ref. M043.207.16.131.00, launched in reflecting Mido's characteristics of architecture design and sustainability to defy the passage of time.
Let'sLet's dive into the dimensions of this Mido, available in high-grade stainless steel case measuring at 34mm wide and 40mm from lugs to lugs, totally a perfect fitting and proportion even for the slimmest wrist of a lady. Case and bezel shaped like the Art Science Museum |
Starting from the top, the case is sophisticated, where the thin bezel grooves resemble the "ten fingertips" of the Art science museum created to allow skylights to illuminate through each "finger" denoting various galleries spaced for sustainable illumination, while the Rainflower Ladies resulting in a designer-type look. The architecture vibes get better when we view the Rainflower Ladies at its profile, where the grooves extend to the side profile of the mid-case. The whole watch comes alive and embellishes the museum in its purest form. Transforming the lotus flower shape into a timepiece will be the short but not stubby lugs attached to the "designer" case, allowing it to feel sturdy with much versatility and then some. All these little details enhance the wrist presence and experience for the wearer thoroughly. The museum's architectural spirit can be found on its crown also, done in an appropriate size, of course.
Speaking on architecture influence, if anyone of you has been to the Art Science Museum, one knows the bowl-shaped blooming-like lotus flower design plays an essential sustainable factor. When it starts raining, the rainwater is then collected and channeled down the center of the building, flowing through its bowl-shaped roof into a reflecting pond at the lowest point of the building. The rainwater then smartly be recycled for exhibitor's use in the building's restrooms. If anyone of you disbelieve this, I strongly suggest heading there and spend some time in it, as eccentric it can be on its outside as its interior. Within minutes you will be enticed by the surrounding atmosphere where the filtered sunlight beams and peculiar wall shapes in the museum, creating a sort of elevated mood.

Ladies' mechanical watches in the current watch trend are booming, leaning lesser towards just decorative fashionable quartz wristlets that tell times, and they are more than a niche market. They are more insightful towards the timepieces they choose, while not towards the masculinity side of Men's watches but picking one up tastefully. And this Mido Rainflower Ladies Blue Ref. M043.207.16.131.00 fits so well with their criteria. Purity with feminity are seen through its lotus shape while being resolutely modern. Pure in design was the inspiration for Mido's Rainflower collection of women's watches. Pure lines, gentle curves, and an evocation of the splendor of the plant world are points that the Rainflower collection shares with this sublime building. It further looks both elegant and reliable, with its heritage of making many artisanal, decorative ladies mechanical since the early days.
