Founded by Gottlieb Hauser in 1883, Alpina has been a creative swiss brand from the early 20th century where they manufactured watch movements and calibers for both the Swiss and the German market. They focus much on rugged tool watches that provide supplies even to the military back then and continuing their legacy till today. They are currently the sister brand of Frederique Constant, whose primary focus is classic watches. Alpina, on the other hand, specializes in sports watches, mainly the Alpiner (Land), Seastrong (Sea) and Startimer (Air) while consistently providing accessible luxury watches. Today, we are proud to be the first to introduce, the all-new Alpiner Heritage collection.

Designed from scratch, the Alpina takes on a rectangle-shaped design from the 1930s. Based off the Alpina's 140th anniversary version, the watch now has current specifications of 32.5mm by 9.71mm thick. The lugs to lugs dimensions of only 39mm make this watch extremely comfortable on all wrist sizes.
Although it carries much of the same spirit of the 1938 original Alpina design for the Caliber 490, the new Alpiner is an heavily upgraded 2-part case design. Made out of 316L stainless steel, the classical styling distills a distinctive stepped structure while being sharp-looking and feel altogether in a wearable package. Together with its full mirror-polished finishing that often punches way above Alpina’s price-point, the overall look is conspicuously multi-layered, faceted with an ultra-vintage look in addition to the brand’s spirit in which resonates with the dress watch theme.
To finish up, the case is fitted with a push-pull crown to allow easy operation, and is then flanged with sleek looking crown-guards.

Underneath the sapphire crystal belies a two-tone dial surface, completed with art-deco design that lends an almost architectural retro look. The Arabic hour numerals also work in conjunction with the beige and silver dial, creating a dazzling array of highlights. Alpina’s vintage take on the classic dauphine handset and the sub-second dial at the bottom, gives the Carree collection a sense of refinement on the wrist, especially when paired with the rectangular minute rehaut and the brand’s retro logo.
Flipping the watch over and seen through its sapphire display case-back, At the heart of the Alpina lies the Alpina self-winding caliber AL-530 automatic movement that offers a power reserve of 38 hours that beats at a rate of 28,800 beats per hour. This 31 jewel movement is a movement renowned for its reliability and performance.

To complete the integrated sports watch design, Alpina fits the Alpiner Heritage Carree Automatic with a dial-matchinostrich leather strap. This strap marries both the theme and comfortability, while the uneven texture pattern gives the overall design a more luxurious, cohesive feel.
Since over a decade of the line’s introduction, the upgraded Alpiner Heritage Carree Automatic delivers a new life into this cornerstone line, catering as a solid dressy option for when someone who want to go simple, classic, more than a little old school design. The dial display and rectangular-shaped case truly shouts Alpina DNA and we’re glad they brought it back in style.
