Squale chose to keep the case silhouette the same to stay true to the original. The stay "true-to-original" philosophy gives watch enthusiasts much enjoyment of the retro-ness. However, much improvement has been made to the construction and finishing using modern-day machinery and technology. The COSC Certified 1521 is now part of the cornerstone of the 1521 Collection.


The 1521 case dimension stays true at 42mm wide and 48mm lugs to lugs, and 12.5mm slim. The unique case construction also meant the 500m watch could be kept at 12.5mm. The contemporary footprint means the 1521 is exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. The Squale 1521 has a uni-directional 120-click bezel. The screw-down crown is located at 4 O'clock. Topping it off, sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating for added toughness and clarity. True to its predecessors, this steel model features a case with a bi-lux finish which incorporates satin finishing with polished bevels for maximum elegance.

Made in Switzerland and powered by a "Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres" automatic calibre, ETA2824-2/SW 200, élaboré, operating at 28,800 bph (4 Hertz) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 25 jewels with a power reserve of 40 hours. The perk of being a chronometer-certified movement is that this 1521 has to be accurate to -4 to +6 seconds a day and also to be Swiss-made with built from the highest quality materials with the most incredible levels of care.
