In the early 1910s, the Japanese watch manufacturer debuted its first mechanical watch. In continuation of its development, Seiko has launched its automatic caliber in the 1950s, along with its marvel, which is the creation of its shock absorbing system for the movement; known as the "Diashock" system.

Seiko has gone through a decade of refining and developing its mechanical watchmaking skills. These had led to the creation of Seiko's all-mechanical collection; the Presage.

In the Presage line consist of Seiko's leading mechanical watch collection at nearly every price point imaginable, like the caliber 4R, 6R and 8R, and today we introduced to you the Classic Series, a classic dress watch entirely made in-house by Seiko.

Seiko has expanded its celebrated Presage Classic Series with a meaningful new collaboration alongside the Tomioka Silk Promotion Organization. Established to preserve the historic legacy of the Tomioka Silk Mill, a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site, this organization proudly protects and carries traditional Japanese sericulture into the future. Today, it actively promotes pure, domestically produced silk grown right from local Tomioka cocoons, sharing its unique texture and beauty with the world. While Seiko partners with Tomioka Silk for an exclusive Limited Edition, the brand introduces even more pieces inspired by this heritage with the Presage Classic Series Green, a timepiece that beautifully intertwines horology with history.

Intricate finishing on the multi faceted case and bracelet

The Presage measures 38mm in diameter with a thickness of 12.9mm and a compact lug to lug distance of 43.8mm, making it exceptionally wearable as an everyday timepiece for any occasion. Beautifully polished, the Classic series features an elegant case, giving a completely unique and luxurious presence to the whole silhouette while housing the delicate dial inside. Complete with a practical push pull crown at the 3 o'clock position, the watch provides a highly capable 100m water resistance.

The color palette draws from traditional Japanese craft to emphasize the natural tones of the material, using wakatake-iro - a fresh, vibrant green long favoured in kimono dyeing. Further, underneath the dual curved sapphire crystal belies the hour markers are silver batons, applied directly onto its dial surface. One can easily spend hours looking at the watch to admire the intricate details that Seiko has put into this excellent dress watch, withstanding the very close scrutiny, and able to pass with flying colors.

Beating at a steady frequency of 21,600 BPH at 3 Hertz, it includes essential enthusiast features like hacking and hand winding. The 24 jewel powerhouse boasts a generous 72 hour power reserve, offering a massive 22 hour upgrade over the older 7R and 6S calibers for true weekend proof utility.

This remarkable timepiece is paired with a retro multi-linked stainless steel bracelet that extends seamlessly from its case made from the same material, allowing it to form a single perfect timepiece that ensures comfortable wear while withstanding the harshest conditions.
