Orient Watches

Orient Watch Company, a Japanese watchmaker, was officially established in 1950. However, its origins trace back to 1901 when Shogoro Yoshida opened the Yoshida Watch Shop in Tokyo, selling imported pocket watches. Over time, Yoshida expanded his business, forming Toyo Tokei Manufacturing in 1920, which began producing table clocks and gauges. Wristwatch production started in 1934, and after a period of success and closure following World War II, the company reemerged as Tama Keiki Company in 1950, eventually becoming Orient Watch Company in 1951.
